HISTORY
Since its founding in 1998, Trip Sports, Inc. has quickly become one of America’s leaders in providing exciting and unique athletic events to teams from across the United States. Founded by brothers Tim Utrup and Todd Utrup, the company operated its first event, the Grand Canyon Classic, in December of 1999. This Phoenix basketball event has grown over the years, peaking with 33 teams in 2004.

Trip Sports continues to operate several basketball tournaments at destinations such as San Antonio (TX), Ft. Lauderdale (FL), Las Vegas (NV), Phoenix (AZ), and Orange County (CA). Trip Sports has previously operated basketball tournaments in Daytona Beach and San Francisco.

Volleyball has also been a part of Trip Sports since the 2000 season, when the Beach Blast was operated in Daytona Beach (FL). This event was relocated to Las Vegas with the 2007 season under the name Las Vegas Blast.
