Trinity University and the William H. Bell Athletic Center is the competition site for the San Antonio Shootout. The Bell Athletic Center opened in 1992 as a $15 million, 185,000+ square foot facility housing two performance gymansiums, a natatorium, several raquetball and squash courts, an aerobic fitness center, weight room, and dance studio. In addition, the facility boasts spacious locker rooms and a state-of-the-art athletic training room.
 
As for intercollegiate athletics, Trinity University fields some of the most competitive teams in the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). Trinity has won 10 of the past 11 SCAC President's Cup Trophies, awarded to the conference's best overall sports program. Four teams have won D-III National Championships, including men's soccer (2003), women's basketball (2002-03), men's tennis (2000), and women's tennis (2000). The 1972 men's tennis team also won the Division I national title.
